Fly as WHAT? Instant mentoring of a young black male on the street of New York City

IMG_5808

I walked by a young black male on 82nd and Broadway while doing some back to school shopping with my kids a few minutes ago. This kid was asking for money for his basketball team. They needed money to get back to Florida (yeah ok…whatever).

I walked by but had to come back to engage him after I saw his T-shirt.

I walked back and asked him what the logo on his shirt said. He said it says “fly as FUCK!” I asked him where he got the t-shirt from. He said he just picked up the first thing he saw in his drawer.

I pulled him aside and told him:

1) He is on the upper west side. The people walking by might not think his shirt is dope.

2) His appearance MATTERS! Think about what his shirt actually says and the image it is projecting.

I said think about this because people might be more receptive to your message and what you are selling if you have a certain appearance and presentation.

My kids and I took care of business and I told my daughter about what I said to him. When we walked back past him on our way back to our car, my daughter noticed that he turned his shirt inside out.

Dave Chapelle couldn’t have explained it any better:

If Police Come To Your Door Without a Warrant, Shut Them Down Like This Guy

Ya know…the constitution is a pretty powerful document. It is too bad so many people have allowed it to be shred to a million pieces.

The framers of the constitution understood human nature. That is one of the main reasons for the checks and balances. We all have our own agenda and act out of self-interest.

When you allow people to do certain things that will benefit them and possibly be to your detriment, and those people really don’t care about your plight, well…what do you expect?

Stop allowing the city government from getting out of control, stop allowing the state legislature from writing laws that are far-reaching and out-of-bounds (like SB 967) and put a lid on federal government excesses PLEASE!!! Oh yeah, and by the way, don’t talk to the police.

Got it?

Maybe not. You’ll get it once the long arm of the law slaps your ass around a little. Your heart will stop bleeding and will harden up a little to the reality of life in the real world.

If police come to your door and you don’t need their help, you can simply decline to answer. They cannot come into your home without a search warrant.

Even if the police have probable cause, they cannot come in your home without a search warrant.

You might even be a suspect in a criminal investigation. In such a case you should remain silent — except to say “Officer, I can’t let you inside without a search warrant.” Following such an encounter, you should immediately contact a lawyer before speaking to police again.

The fact is that police can legally lie to try and gain access into your home and knowing how to deal with police at your door can go a long way.

A video uploaded to facebook last week by Avel Amarel, shows Amarel doing a great job at shutting down the two officers who tried to gain access to his house. Notice that in the beginning of the video, police try to get Amarel to stop filming. Mission number 1, reduce accountability. Cheers to Amarel for standing his ground.

NEIGHBORhood

IMG_5631-0.JPG
I went for a walk in my old neighborhood to get some exercise this morning. I ran into some old neighbors. It’s great to reminisce about the old days (35 years ago or so). Lots of great memories growing up in a relatively new suburban development.

IMG_5704.JPG
The “good ol’ days…going OUTSIDE to play in the yard, riding your bike everywhere, eating dinner at home with your family, going to a local school, cutting the grass, shoveling the snow…etc. I’ve lived in NYC for 21 years and understand that growing up in the city prior to the 90’s might have been exciting because there was more of a neighborhood vibe and people looked out for each other. Forget it nowadays. It’s helicopter parenting and stupid play dates. I hate it. Plus it costs about a half million dollars a day per kid to take care of them in 2014.

Life was simpler. It wasn’t necessarily easier, or perfect, but from what I remember and from talking to the people I run into from the NEIGHBORhood from that time period, life was pretty good. Yes, there was silly racist nonsense here and there, fights, and other issues that any kids growing up anywhere will deal with. I still have a soft spot for quiet, traffic free, 4 bedroom homes with a basement and a backyard. I just feel more at home in an actual house. One day…just one day I’ll be able to find enough pennies in-between my couch cushions to make that down payment. For now, I’ll enjoy city livin’ as much as I can. There is still more for me to discover here.

Another One Bites The Dust- Michael Sam Cut By The Rams

IMG_5590.JPG

31 other teams passed on him, he was a mediocre player at best, a 7th round pick…and did you really think he was gonna make the cut? He’s in the same position as HUNDREDS of other players who wanted to be in the NFL.

I was hoping Brian Banks would make it last year because he was the poster boy for being a “survivor” of false accusations of rape. The nonsense he had to endure was horrific..and he was actually good.

Oh well. Can we get back to the content of our character and not our sexual orientation, color of skin, or whether or not we were born with or without certain body parts?

Maybe one day.

Rams Cut Michael Sam, First Openly Gay Player Drafted in N.F.L.

Michael Sam, the first openly gay player drafted by an N.F.L. team, was cut by the St. Louis Rams on Saturday.

The move came as teams across the league reduced their squads to 53 players.

In May, Sam was drafted at the end of the seventh round despite being named a co-defensive player of the year in the Southeastern Conference his senior year at the University of Missouri. He was taken with the 249th pick out of 256 players drafted.

He gave a mediocre performance at the scouting combine, which some said contributed to his low draft position.

Beyoncé the FEMINIST

THIS IS WHAT A FEMINIST LOOKS LIKE!
IMG_5365.JPG

Really?

If Beyonce is a “feminist,” so is this bimbo. Modern feminists are a cult who’s ideology is dying a slow and painful death, I say GOOD RIDDANCE!! I lost all respect for what the rabid man hating radicals did to a movement that had merit in the past. The first and second wave feminists? A much needed movement. Now? It is a female supremacy movement hell bent on punishing anyone with a penis.

I despise these modern radical gender feminists as much as I do marxism and Dick Cheney.

I’m going down to the Hustler Club to hang out with all of the FEMINISTS later tonight.

Beyonce…get off your stripper pole and put on some clothes. Your daughter is watching.

Good grief: http://thefederalist.com/2014/08/25/beyonces-vma-feminist-claim-is-hilarious/
